Matthew Boulton Candelabrum Old Sheffield Plate

Year: 1800 ca

Description: A very fine example of Matthew Boulton's work, this stately Old Sheffield Plate candelabrum would bathe any hall or other table with gracious elegance. The marks are very crisp - two 8 pointed suns - for its sponsor, Boulton. The dental work around the edges matches for all pieces indicating that all are original. Of course, if one wishes, one could easily remove the branches to display the less formal large candlestick. Some very, very slight bleeding of copper is present. There are no visible repairs. This piece is another excellent choice for the collector and is brought to you by Chancery Lane Antiques, Inc.
